My how time flies!

So this is what happens when I don't keep up with my blog like I should. I forget the cool details! Basically- the first two house we saw were cute- but a dud. Both were too small for what we wanted. Both had these weird top floor rooms that because the roofs are slanted- so are the ceiling of the rooms. The hubby and I both come from square shaped homes so we weren't really into that- especially considering the size. After those two, the husband went on his own to see a house labeled a "fixer upper". And boy was it... the ceiling in the kitchen caved in and because the smart owners before took down a load bearing wall, the second floor was starting to sink in. Not fun.

We took a few days off from house hunting and decided to check out some Co-ops in our area. One was on the first floor of a really, really nice building. 24 doorman, indoor/outdoor play area for kids, laundry room, parking, storage- ugh- I loved it! The neighborhood was good, but kind of in the middle of nowhere. So the first floor apartment had an issue with lighting. It seemed dark, even with all the lights in the apartment on!

We also went to go see a space on the 6th floor which was very affordable- but of course needed some work. But not too much. The wood floors needed to be cleaned up along with the bathroom needed a total overhaul. But it was cute! So we put in a bid and they accepted- yay!

Only- we don't really like it that much anymore. We went to see another house today that for almost the same price is not a bad candidate. Its HUGE. Well, maybe I'm exaggerating. Its certainly not a mansion. But its much, much bigger than all the others we've seen but of course- you called it- it needs work. A lot. Of work. The previous occupants made it pretty clear they didn't give a crap about taking care of it. Boo. Honestly though- I wouldn't mind putting in the effort for this particular place. It definitely has potential, so we're going back with a contractor in the next couple of days. Hopefully he's got good news for us.

We're also seeing another house on Sunday which is a lovely shade of green- so of course I'm instantly smitten.

Oh yeah- but the husband is talking about going back to school for nursing so that he can make more than what he makes now. All fine and dandy- but then that means no house for us. Oh life. You make me giggle sometimes.

The non-house possibility wont be so bad. His mom offered to take over the basement and give us the top floor if he does indeed enroll himself in school. Won't be so bad cause we can turn the other room up here into a living room, and we have our own bathroom. So yay for saving money. x)
